I had been dreaming that someone was in my house. It was what appeared to be a sweet, older lady at the door. She was pushy and made her way in. Once inside her costume fell away and revealed a tall, thin man with a menacing smile. I yelled at him to get out of my house.
I woke up while sitting up straight and yelling, “No, no! Get out!” I opened my eyes to see the man standing at the foot of my bed. As I continued to stare at him he slowly faded away into the darkness. I sat still with my heart pounding for a long time.
It was as if I had seen a ghost.
Update: Likely explanation: threshold consciousness
I dreamt that Debbie (Former Preceptor) tried to surprise me with a sudden meet and “hey, why don’t you guys go get some coffee – or something” with her son. My immediate reaction was to try to hide so that they couldn’t find me. I felt awful, thought I looked awful, and was not in the mood to be pushed/forced into anything.
When it comes to a situation like this, that’s typically my first real reaction as well. I definitely have paralyzing fears to any situation that requires me to be even the slightest bit vulnerable (no matter how much I want someone to be vulnerable with) – and I’m trying to get over that by being that pushy force in my own life. Still, as with everything else in my life, it always seems to involve two takes before I’m able to do what I need/want to do.
I’m just glad I got to experience that specific situation’s panic/dread/avoidance in a dream. Next time I’ll be cool.
I’ve woken up smiling.
I’ve woken up laughing.
I’ve even woken up singing.
Last night, I woke up sobbing.
I dreamt that my youngest brother had died from a vaccination, and the dream followed me in my grief over the next few days. I was crying all the time. I saw him everywhere and spoke to him (about my day, about how I missed him, about little things I knew he would have found funny), even though I knew he wasn’t really there. I kept thinking about how this was how I would always imagine him, always know him – frozen at 18. I cried for all his big dreams that would be left undone.
I was angry at my mother when she insisted I not tell his girlfriend that he was dead. I did anyway. I was furious when she asked Sarah Palin, a scholarship person, if she’d still be receiving his 2 year music scholarship check.
I was riding in a horse-drawn carriage with my mother and Palin when another horse charged the cart. I stood and waved my arms to make this blonde horse back down. It would retreat for a moment before attacking again. I could see the building we were headed toward up ahead. I shouted at the women to hurry. We were almost to the entrance when the cart suddenly turned sideways, and I fell out. I turned around to see a man attacking Palin. Someone came out of the entrance holding a large remote, and I yelled at him to help. He started to go back inside instead. I grabbed the remote from his hand and hit the attacker over the head.
He back away, pulled out a can of mace, and sprayed it into his eyes. I had closed my own eyes tightly and turned away at the sight of the can. After a few moments I carefully opened my eyes and looked around. Droplets were suspended in the air and through them I could see a uniformed Andy Griffith putting the guy into a blue car with flashing lights. He walked over to me and patted my shoulder, saying, “I just want you to know that you can talk to me anytime as someone who knew the guy (my brother).”
I was walking back toward the building when I passed my brother watching the whole scene. “Look,” I said, holding up the remote. “I went to a fight armed with this.” He laughed, I laughed, and then I started crying again.
Then I woke up, still sobbing over the loss of my brother. The pain was so real, and the cries came from the pit of my stomach. As I became more alert, the tears didn’t stop. It was all I could do not to jump up and crawl into his bed to hold him close. Now I was crying over the idea of losing him and the memory of the shocking emotional pain. As I cried, I tried desperately not to cry out loud in the dark. I was reminded of the footage of grieving families where the people are screaming and making guttural cries. I suddenly felt as though I could partly understand the searing loss they were feeling, and I prayed for a long time for my brother’s safety.
Today I gave him a big hug and said, “I love you.”
Last night I had a dream in which I and a group of people living in my house had special powers. We were planning an attack on another group of people with powers and evil intentions when we discovered two traitors. After locking them up, we went outside to the front yard. A car was parked in the middle of the yard. A plane landed just beyond the car, and we ran forward and crouched behind the car. The bad guys came out and walked toward us. As they began to attack, I jumped up and stretched my hands out to them. My power was to cancel out their powers. The fight was then at a standstill. The two groups walked over to the side of the car and began talking. I stood there with my hands stretched forward until they finally left. We walked back to the house and found a horse lying on the ground in front of the steps. My dad came outside and built a feeding system out of a pulley system and two buckets – one for food and one for water. He would tug on a rope, and the horse would lift his head to eat or drink whatever was pouring out of the bucket. Back inside, we studied a map of the headquarters of the other group. Someone traced a secret passage into the house with her finger, and we knew this was our best way in.

It may refer to new opportunities, a new relationship, or a new attitude toward life. If you wake up before fully exploring these passageways, then it suggests that you may not know how to go about taking advantage of these opportunities or how to move forward with a relationship.
Okay, so I’ve had recurring dreams about zombies before. I’ve been in the middle of a dream and known that I had already dreamed this particular dream. Last night was no different except for one minor detail, the zombies had evolved from slow and staggering to fast and knife-wielding.
Oh, and Conan O’Brian made an appearance. Awesome.
I was more than a little happy to realize that I had dreamed about knitting last night. I was knitting a pink baby bonnet when a hole appeared in the middle of it, and it was spreading. I was horrified, but then acted quickly to repair it.

Pink represents love, joy, sweetness, happiness, affection, and kindness. Being in love or healing through love is also reflected in this color.
This morning I woke up from a dream with music in my head. It had been playing throughout the end of my dream, and it was a haunting melody strummed on a guitar. As I lay in my bed, I began humming the few bars I had left over and over again. I didn’t recognize the tune, and I wanted to record it on my phone before doing anything else. Instead, I had to run outside to grab our dog who had slipped past my mom at the door and took off after a stray. I completely lost the tune by the time I got back inside.
Last night I dreamed that I was a shark trainer. I took care of hundreds of sharks, though one was my favorite. The sharks were kept in many cages in the ocean within one big cage that went all the way to the bottom of the ocean. I was playing with my favorite when it swam toward a small door on the bottom that led out to the open water. I trusted the shark as it was well-trained and obeyed every command. So I opened the door and let the shark swim out. I watched as the shark quickly swam away. I called and called, but the shark didn’t return. I swam out in the dark water, and I searched for my shark. I was soon lost, with no shark and no cage in sight. Finally I got hold of the shark, and soon I recognized the terrain and made my way back to the cage door, though not soon enough because the tank was running low on oxygen. I struggled to open the door and push the shark through before going inside and shutting the door behind me. I tried to swim to the surface, but I knew I was about to pass out. The shark swam toward me, and I held on to the shark as it swam to the surface and shot out of the water.

I had a dream that I and a few others were chasing a group of five brothers. We surrounded them in a fast food restaurant with the intent to capture them for crimes committed. Somehow they ended up dead. I was preparing them for burial when their father came up to me. They were lying in their caskets, and I had just placed identifying paperwork beside their bodies. Their father was worried over the papers, and I assured him that the information did not include what they had done or how they had died. He was relieved that no one in the future would know.

Last night I dreamed that I was in class taking a test. I was sitting in the usual room in my usual spot in the back by my friends. My mental health professors were proctering the exam. It was a long test, split into several stacks of stapled paper. At one point we were given a short break. I went out into the hall. A teacher was down at the end, and I began walking to her. On my way I realized that I was pushing a walker. On top of the seat of the walker was part of the exam. I wanted to avoid my teacher just then, but she saw the exam and came over to me. I explained that it was an accident. Soon we were back in the room taking the exam.
When it was over I went to the roof of the building. Someone pointed at the setting sun, and I could see something strange in the sky. I knew I should leave, but my curiousity kept me watching. Shimmering circles were rising from the horizon and heading toward us. I started to run over to the steps. As I looked down I saw that I was no longer on the roof of the nursing building but on a large, white spaceship. I knew I wouldn’t be able to get away. I looked back at the shimmering circles, and they were close enough for me to see the aliens inside their individual spaceships. They formed an attack formation and began bombarding our ship with rays. I was close to edge when I took a tumble. I found myself dangling halfway over some kind of plasma engine and halfway over the ground. Either way I knew it wouldn’t be good.
Somehow I landed unscathed on the beach. In the distance I saw aliens walking in my direction, so I hid behind some bushes. I saw a man standing at the water, facing angry, crashing waves. I wanted to warn him, but that would have given away my position. The aliens approached him, and I though he would soon be dead. Instead, he began leading them in some breathing exercises and other meditative practices.
What? And of course, that it when I woke up.
