You may have already seen the TR band before, but I saw this device for the first time last week. I was getting report from cath lab on a patient who had a radial insertion when the nurse tells me “Oh, and her TR band is inflated with 18 cc of air.” “TR what?”
It’s just a clear band with a pressure balloon that lets you visualize and monitor radial compression while keeping the patient as comfortable as possible.
For now it will be the cath lab nurses that come out to release the band (following a protocol similar to this one), but eventually the telemetry nurses will all be in-serviced.
